Originally from Washington, DC, Susan
Oetgen began her career as an arts administrator at Washington
Performing Arts Society, shortly after completing a Master of
Music in Vocal Performance from Catholic University in 1999.
Since then, she has balanced her work as a composer and
performing artist with her work as an administrator, focusing in
both cases on contemporary classical music and experimental
dance and theater. Susan's diverse experience includes stints
as Stage Manager/Project Coordinator for Cynthia Hopkins'
Accidental Nostalgia, House Manager at St. Ann's Warehouse,
Executive Assistant for Paul Szilard Productions, Inc., and
Operations Manager for American Composers Orchestra and Stamford
Symphony Orchestra. A participant of the Brooklyn
Philharmonic's 2007-2008 Composer Mentorship Program and a 2008
Atlantic Center for the Arts composition resident, Susan is also
the founder and front-woman of the indie chamber-pop quartet,
Likeness to Lily. |
